I’ve been in the gym since I was 15... way before I understood the science behind it. Something about stepping into my first strength class felt instinctual. And by the end of that class, I knew working out didn't have to be just to "loose weight", as I'd grown up seeing (👋 hey fellow millennials raised by mom's always trying the next fad diet to "just loose a few pounds"). It was about becoming stronger, more physically independent, protecting my body, and raising my self-esteem.
I went on to study Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, which gave me the language and structure to what I had already begun to sense: our one body is our only home. It's intelligent, adaptive, and our way of communicating energetically.
After Uni, I spent 7+ years working as an ergonomics consultant where I saw the same story repeat itself: capable, ambitious people neglecting their bodies in order to keep up with their workload, sitting too long, pushing through discomfort... yet longing to feel energized and successful at the same time. I loved the 1:1 piece of working with people, especially women, to optimize their workspace and thus how they feel in their bodies. I also loved educating groups of workers on how they can empower themselves to work smarter and save physical energy so that they can go home at the end of their work day feeling more energetic. And so that's what I've held onto....
Today, I work primarily with professional women who don’t want to waste mental energy decoding fitness trends or second-guessing what they “should” be doing in the gym. I offer structured, done-for-you programming rooted in biomechanics, balance, and long-term sustainability, not fads.
My approach is holistic. We zoom out before we zoom in, and I ask questions like:
How are you sleeping?
How are you sitting?
Where are you holding tension?
Where are you in your moon cycle?
... not just "what are your fitness goals?"
Unless you’re a professional athlete, you don’t need extremes... you need variety. Strength, mobility, recovery, and nervous system regulation all matter. Your training should support your ambition and personal life, not compete with it.
Above all, I strive to help my clients feel seen and understood in their bodies. To listen first. To move in alignment with their current capacity and long-term goals, with a goal of building strength that lasts.
